Hydraulic Deck Cranes

GPDC Series

Product Overview

Deck Cranes for Every Application

Our STANDARD cranes cover a wide range of applications. INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC products are designed and manufactured to ensure reliable, trouble-free performance under demanding operating conditions. SPECIAL cranes are tailor-made solutions, engineered to meet specific customer requirements and provide unique material handling capabilities.

The type and configuration of each crane are determined by the customer's requirements and can be tailored through a wide range of options offered by ISKAR. We maintain the same high standards across design, manufacturing, traceability, safety, certification, and third-party inspection and control processes.

ISKAR supplies slewing jib cranes with capacities of up to 1,000 tm, designed for installation on fixed pedestal bases on floating docks, jetties, barges, and other material handling structures. GPDC-type cranes are fully factory-tested and delivered as complete units, with an operator's cab, air-conditioning unit, ergonomic seat, load-limiting system, external lighting, and audio communication system included as standard.

Available Configurations

01Standard

Fixed Type Slewing Deck Cranes

Fixed type slewing deck cranes are designed for installation on fixed pedestal bases and are among ISKAR's most versatile products. They are suitable for a wide range of port, shipyard, and offshore applications, combining proven mechanical systems with the latest hydraulic and automation technology.

Delivered as fully factory-tested complete units, these cranes include the operator cabin, air conditioning, ergonomic seating, load limiting system, external lighting, and audio communication as standard equipment.

02Industry Specific

Knuckle Boom Deck Cranes

Knuckle type jib cranes offer significant advantages due to their compact design, minimizing the space occupied on the platform or deck of ships. The folding-jib system provides highly flexible operation and a wide range of movement. The hook can easily reach the sea surface without fully paying out the wire rope from the drum, enhancing the precision of material handling operations, particularly on fishing vessels.

These types of cranes are widely used on fishing vessels, research vessels, engineering vessels, and subsea operation vessels. The articulated jib, also known as a "knuckle jib" or "folding jib," can be positioned close to the load, minimizing the pendulum effect during operation. In addition, the crane requires very limited parking space, leaving more deck area available for the vessel's primary operations.

03Special

Travelling Type Deck Cranes

Traveling deck cranes are suitable for small floating docks or vessels where the available rail span is very limited. Traveling jib cranes can be operated either from the operator's cabin or via wireless remote control, depending on the application and customer requirements.

ISKAR provides tailored solutions based on each customer's specific requirements, combining high-quality products with state-of-the-art technology.

Technical Construction Details

Hydraulics

One vertically mounted electric motor in the crane column drives the main variable-displacement pump. The hydraulic circuit is an open-loop system with load-sensing feedback control. Built-in heaters in the oil tank, together with a separate cooling circuit, ensure reliable crane operation under severe climatic conditions.

Both the pressure and return lines are equipped with filters featuring digital clogging indicators. The hydraulic oil tank, integrated into the crane tower, includes a low fluid-level switch, temperature and pressure gauges with a digital indicator, breather, cleaning access cover, oil-level sight glass with thermometer, and built-in heaters.

The generated hydraulic power is distributed to the crane's hydraulic functions through a crane-type servo-proportional valve. This valve enables independent operation of each function with precise speed control. Hoisting, luffing, and slewing movements are controlled by joysticks on the operator's console. All crane movements can be proportionally controlled from zero to maximum speed.

Structure

The portal is a rigid, fabricated steel structure consisting of fully welded box sections, two legs, a horizontal structural member, and a vertical flanged tube collar. The portal and slewing upper structure are connected by a large-diameter anti-friction slewing bearing.

The slewing bearing is secured to the portal collar and upper structure with high-strength bolts. It transmits all vertical, horizontal, and bending forces from the slewing upper structure to the portal. The slewing upper structure is of fabricated welded construction, consisting primarily of steel plates and rolled profiles, and comprises the machinery house, platforms, and operator's cabin.

The crane is equipped with a box-shaped single-boom jib. The jib is hinged to the upper structure at the heel end by two grease-lubricated pins. Stairs and ladders are provided in accordance with applicable regulations to ensure safe and convenient access to all machinery. External stair treads, platforms, and walkways are made of galvanized grating or punched steel plate. Platforms are fitted with toe guards and protected by double-tier steel tube handrails.
